50 Cent paid for the funeral of a Queens teenage girl who was murdered, New York Daily News reported on May 26.

D'aja Robinson, 14, was fatally shot while riding the Q6 bus in Queens, N.Y. on May 18 after returning home from a friend's birthday party. Robinson was pronounced dead at Jamaica Hospital shortly after the shooting. She was laid to rest at her funeral on May 24 and her body was carried to the Greater Allen A.M.E. Cathedral in Jamiaca, N.Y. in a horse drawn carriage paid for by the rapper.

50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, is a Queens native. He shared why he decided to help the family pay tribute to their daughter on Facebook. The In Da Club lyricist said she was a young and pretty girl who didn't deserve an early death.

"People always try and paint negative images about me I'm the most genuine down to earth person and I didn't forget where I came from I came through for baby girl by providing a horse and carriage for her," he wrote.

50 Cent also posted a collage of Robinson and photos from her funeral. The newspaper estimated that at least 2,500 people attended the funeral to pay their respects, with many of them being teenagers.

On the day before Robinson's funeral, authorities questioned a suspect in the teen's slaying. The shooter was apparently trying to kill another teenage girl on the bus.

Sources told the Daily News that the shooting stemmed from a conflict between two rival gangs. The intended target was friendly with members of the EBK street crew and the shooter is believed to be a member of the Snow Gang, the sources added. The intended target was then threatened via social media. The suspect has not yet been publicly identified but Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said on May 24 that Robinson's death was a senseless one.

"The 14-year-old girl had nothing to with this. It's a terrible tragedy, but it's indicative of the fact that we just have too many guns and too many young people with access to these guns," he said.
