‘Avatar 2’ Will Soon Start Production, James Cameron Done Writing ‘Avatar 5’ Script [VIDEO]
A lot have been waiting to see "Avatar 2" back on the big screen, but concrete details about the movie are still scarce. Although the epic science fiction film's director James Cameron has revealed the sequel's release in December 2018, fans are still waiting for other information regarding the film.
James Cameron didn't exactly reveal when "Avatar 2" will start its production. It looks like Sigourney Weaver, who is set to reprise her role as Dr. Grace Augustine, is beginning to doubt if their movie can make it on his mentioned release date. "We haven't started it, so I don't know how realistic that date is," she said.
However, according to MovieWeb, the 67-year-old star then said that "Avatar 2" is going to be exciting as she already read three out of four of the sequel's scripts. The "Alien" actress even revealed that it is going to be more extraordinary compared to its predecessor. Earlier, James Cameron unveiled that the follow-up film will start its production in April 2016, but there is no "Avatar" has been filmed.
James Cameron said before that there will be four "Avatar" sequels, but there are all still in pre-production. Then again, in January 2017, it was announced that "Avatar 2" will finally start its production in coming August 2017. But, fans will only believe that it will be in the works when they see people behind the movie starting to roll their cameras.
Meanwhile, the 62-year-old critically acclaimed filmmaker explained that it is not only "Avatar 2" has his full attention. "The thing is, my focus isn't on 'Avatar 2.' My focus is on 'Avatar 2,' 3, 4 and 5 equally. That's exactly how I'm approaching it. They've all been developed equally," he told The Daily Beast. In fact, he also divulged that he just finished penning the script of "Avatar 5."
Now, the "Titanic" director is starting the process of active preparation for "Avatar 2." He, too, will begin working with the film's actors in August. Hence, he will be too busy in production every single day starting now until it ends.
