'Avatar 2' Release Date & Update: Filming Will Start In August; Director James Cameron Already Finished Writing ‘Avatar 5’ [VIDEO]
The fans of hit movie "Avatar" in 2009 have been patiently waiting for the next iteration of the show. Now, "Avatar 2" will start in August as Writer James Cameron already finished the "Avatar 5".
According to The Independent, the cameras are set to film the much-awaited movie "Avatar 2" this August. The prominent characters like Jake might still be portrayed by Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana as Neytiri will continue "battling with humans."
In an interview, James Cameron has stated that "The thing is, my focus isn't on "Avatar 2". My focus is on "Avatar 2, 3, 4, and 5" equally. That's exactly how I'm approaching it. They've all been developed equally. I've just finished the script to "Avatar 5". I'm now starting the process of active prep. I'll be working with the actors in the capture volume in August, so I'm booked in production every day between now and then.
Cameron also said that their volume is up and running and that the whole thing is already planned, and so they are going full-guns right now. He also added that he felt like he was freed from prison as he has been writing the "Avatar 2" and other sequels in the cave for the past two years.
As for the "Avatar 2" release, Den of Geek reported that Fox has tentatively held in reserve December 21, 2018, for an untitled Lightstorm film. As a reference, the Lightstorm is none other than the production company established by a Mr. James Cameron.
It was also mentioned that previously, Fox had publicized that they would be responsible for the distribution of Cameron's "Avatar" sequels. They are also anticipating that the "Avatar 2" which is the first of these sequels will hit the big screen in December 2018.
With this, James Cameron's fans will still have to wait for less than two years for them to be able to watch the "Avatar 2". Moreover, the "Avatar 3, 4 and 5" sequels were also written and fans of "Avatar" will just have to wait for these to be premiered in cinemas.
