Keith Urban Album 2013 Release Date Ahead of 'American Idol' Season 13 News [VIDEO]
Following the completion of his first season as a judge on American Idol, Keith Urban has been keeping busy.
The country singer announced Fuse -- his ninth studio album to be released on Sept. 10, according to The Associated Press.
Urban told the AP that the album will be a combination of his own songwriting as well as tunes written by others. He also said that he is enlisting new talent for his upcoming new album. One such person includes Nathan Chapman, who is known for his work with Taylor Swift. The album's lead single Little Bit Of Everything, which Urban performed on Idol's season finale in May, was produced by Chapman.
"It's just been really creatively liberating to me," Urban said in a May interview. "I love collaborating. It's the thing I've always loved doing, whether it's writing or performing or being in the studio, I love the collaborative process."
The album's release will be promoted with a summer tour and it will mark the first time the Australian native is going on the road before completing his album. While Light The Fuse Tour 2013 will kick off on July 13 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the album will be finished in August.
In the meantime, Urban is also busy anticipating whether or not he will be asked to return to his judging seat on Idol.
"I have no official information of anything," he also told The Associated Press. "I'm pretty much in the same boat as everybody else here with the rumors that have been floating around. I don't know anything more about what's happening next season. It was like this before I signed on ... so it's not unusual for the Idol folks to be in this place of figuring out what they want to do, then they always pull it together."
Yet, his upcoming album and tour are sure to keep busy as he waits.
