'The Bachelorette' 2013 Desiree Hartsock Premiere Recap, First Impressions & Eliminated Bachelors LISTS [VIDEOS]
ABC premiered season 9 of The Bachelorette starring Desiree Hartsock on Memorial Day.
The 26-year-old bridal stylist was given a second chance at love after failing to win Sean Lowe's heart and met 24 bachelors during her own show's premiere on May 27.
The show began with Hartsock chatting with host Chris Harrison about her search for love while clips of her rollerblading in Malibu and being friendly with seagulls played on air. Harrison told her that her process during her search for love "is gonna be fun" after she admitted that the "experience is very humbling."
Hartsock said she was flattered that "people are rooting for me" to find true love and that being picked for season 9 of ABC's hit reality show "is just unreal."
Hartsock encountered several shocking entrances from eligible bachelors as they exited their chauffeur-driven limos.
Diogo Custodio exited the limo wearing a full knight armor suit, magician Nick Roy gave Hartsock a piece of paper and turned it into a rose and Zak Waddell greeted her shirtless. Jonathan Vollinger invited her up to his hotel room with a room key in an envelope as soon as he met her and Micah wore a clown costume for his first meeting with the bachelorette.
Waddell explained why he arrived shirtless.
"I know you had a lot invested in Sean, and I know he had great abs," he told her during their uncomfortable conversation. "So I have to ask you … Will you accept these abs?"
