‘Justice League:’ The Story So Far And The Possible Characters For Willem Dafoe
As the year gains pace, fans of "Justice League" are excited to know more details about the spectacular offering and this is what is available as of now.
"Justice League" features the returning DC Comics heroes but there will also be new inclusions, The Week reported. According to the magazine, the movie is based on the comics that was first published in 1960 and had an ensemble of superheroes including Superman, Batman, Aquaman, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, The Flash, Wonder Woman. Later, Captain Marvel, Green Arrow, Hawkman, Atom, Black Canary, Cyborg and Plastic Man also joined the league.
As for "Justice League" story, the synopsis from Warner Bros. says that a new threat challenges humanity and it is greater than any of the heroes can handle alone. So, Bruce Wayne calls upon Wonder Woman and together they form a team of metahumans but the threat is quite huge.
Warner Bros. has also shed light on the cast of "Justice League" and Ciaran Hinds would be essaying the main villain Steppenwolf along with another baddie Darkseid. Zack Snyder is donning the directorial hat while the screenplay is in the hands of Academy Award winner Chris Terrio.
In related news, Willem Dafoe has been roped in to play a major character in "Justice League" and speculations suggest that he could be a descendant of Steve Trevor, who convinces Diana to fight for man's world, Cinema Blend reported. He could also step in as Henry Allen, father of The Flash or as fellow speedster Jay Garrick. Tom Curry, father of Aquaman is also one of the roles that Dafoe could be playing in "Justice League."
DCEU has been known to invest a good deal in father figures who shape their superhero protégés and Jason Momoa's Aquaman can learn a lot from him so as to balance his peaceful side and the one that has a taste for war. The older and seasoned character of Manhunter is also said to be in the offing along with Desaad, the right-hand man of Darkseid who will be wreaking havoc in "Justice League."
