It's been three years but Slim Shady is making his musical return, eventually.

Eminem's follow-up to 2010's Recovery was confirmed for release at an unknown post-Memorial Day date. Paul Rosenberg, the Shady Records president, told Billboard in February that the 40-year-old rapper is "far into the process" of his eighth studio album.

Reports are currently circulating that Eminem's album will be released on July 2, all of which are stemming from Channel 955, a radio station based in Detroit.

"Detroit's Channel 955 confirmed weeks ago on Facebook that Eminem's upcoming new album in stores on 02. 07 . 2013," one of the rapper's fan accounts wrote on Twitter on May 28.

To that, another fan page tweeted the reply, "they later apologized 4 it, saying they weren't sure about the date. it was a wild guess."

What is known for sure, however, is that the Detroit native was in the studio with another rapper -- Big Sean.

"Today was historical," wrote Big Sean under a photo he posted of the two on Instagram on April 26. The photo shows Eminem and Big Sean standing side by side, but there is no word what they were working on.

Someone else a bit more unexpected was also in the studio with Eminem. Comedian Chris Rock tweeted, "In the studio with Em don't sleep," on May 10. Perhaps, Rock will add his easily identifiable voice to a song.

In addition, Eminem will be heading on tour in Europe in August. Rappers Kendrick Lamar and Tyler the Creator will also join him on some shows. The tour dates can be seen here.

It seems fans will just have to stick wait and see when Eminem's album will be released definitively.

"It's safe to say that will be post-Memorial Day at some point," Rosenberg told the magazine. "But we're not exactly sure when."
