Kanye West New Album 2013, 'Yeezus' News & PHOTO: Tracks Not For Pre Order Before Release Date in June
It seems eager fans will have to wait for the actual release date to purchase Kanye West's next album.
Jean Touitou, A.P.C. clothing store founder and a friend of the rapper's, posted a photo on Twitter Wednesday morning with words that read, "no pre order please purchase." The words are accompanied with what appears to be a very plain cover of West's sixth studio album. This album cover doesn't reflect the gold and artistic one posted by his girlfriend Kim Kardashian on her Instagram on May 18.
The rapper's website previously accepted pre-orders for the upcoming album, according to Complex.com. The link has now been taken down.
The Chicago native premiered two new tracks from the album. His May debut for a song called New Slaves was projected as a video globally, on 66 buildings, according to Rolling Stone. The night after the projection, West performed the new song along with another titled Black Skinheads during his appearance of Saturday Night Live.
The rapper also performed another new love song called So Awesome during his May 15 performance at New York City's Roseland Ballroom. The song is reportedly for Kardashian, according to MTV.
The song's lyrics include, "People trying to hate on you, at least you know that's nothing new. Stop everything you're doing now, cause baby you're awesome."
If indeed the words are for his girlfriend, it's clear he admires her.
"You're so awesome, you're so out of the park, you're so after dark," he sings.
West's sixth studio album, titled Yeezus, will be released on June 18. It will be the follow-up to his 2011 collaborative album with Jay-Z.
