"Ghost in the Shell" fans are in for a pleasant surprise this month, thanks to collaborative efforts among IMAX, DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures. The three outfits have teamed up for the staging of a preview event exclusive for fans of "Ghost in the Shell".

The fan-exclusive event for "Ghost in the Shell" will be shown in 14 IMAX theaters located in North America. Those who can't join the event can still look forward to the official theater opening of the film on March 31.

The IMAX theaters that will host the Ghost in the Shell preview on February 28, according to Collider, are the following:

"Ghost in the Shel"l is an adaptation of a popular Japanese Manga with Scarlett Johansson in the lead as The Major. It also stars Michael Pitt in the role of Kuze, Pilou Asbaek in the role of Batou, Juliette Binoche in the role of Dr. Ouelet, Takeshi Kitano in the role of Chief Daisuke Aramaki and Chin Han in the role of Togusa.

Rupert Sanders is the director of "Ghost in the Shell", while Jamie Moss and Jonathan Herman are the screenplay writers. Aside from witnessing a preview of "Ghost in the Shell", Comicbook reported that fans will also get limited edition movie posters and have their photos taken at the photo booth.

"Ghost in the Shell" is a science fiction movie that narrates the story of Major, a human who was transformed into a cyber-soldier after she figured in an accident. The conflict arises when Major discoveries that lie behind her rebirth and goes on a quest to search for the truth behind her transformation.
