Samsung Galaxy S8 Leaks, Specs, Release Date, Price; Flagship Getting 'Exynos 9 Chip' & Bixby Assistant [Video]
Samsung Galaxy S8 is not going to be launched at MWC 2017. Running up to MWC, Samsung Galaxy S8-related leaks have been surfacing over the internet and the latest leaks bring design price and color variant information. There's also a trademark filed regarding the much rumored Bixby assistant, and Sony has been roped in as a third supplier for Samsung Galaxy S8 batteries.
A Ukrainian retailer's database, spotted by Sammobile, has listed the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus in black, gold, and orchid gray color variants. The Samsung Galaxy S8 price, according to the retailer is $950 and $1050 respectively.
This is why the upcoming device is more expensive than the current generation Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge smartphones. However, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to come with many improvements including a large pressure sensitive display, dual camera setup, and a dedicated AI assistant, as a result the price increase could well be accounted.
For Samsung's Bixby assistant, Galaxy Club reported that Samsung has filed a trademark for 'Bixby Reminder' in Europe, which suggests that it is going to be a feature in the AI assistant. Similar trademarks have been filed by Samsung in the past for Bixby Pay and Bixby Vision also.
Samsung Galaxy S8 is also said to be featuring the Exynos 9 chip, which has recently been announced by the South Korea-based tech giant. Samsung took to twitter to announce the arrival of the chipset "soon", however, CNET believes that the latest Exynos offering will be used on the Samsung Galaxy S8, which will see the light of day next month.
Case maker Urban Armor Gear (UAG) has a posted the cover for the Galaxy S8 on its official website. The UAG listing shows a gamut of cases housing the impending Samsung smartphone, which is highly awaited as it will house the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835.
UAG has come up with two categories of cases for the Samsung Galaxy S8, namely Plasma and Pathfinder. UAG has listed the Plasma Case for the Galaxy S8 in multiple shades such as citron, cobalt, ash, and ice. This case has a price tag of $44.95 and currently showing as available for preorder.
The second cover which is listed for the Galaxy S8 is the Pathfinder Case, which is up for preorder as well in three colors - rust, the classic black, and white. This case from UAG is available for price of $44.95
