2018 Lotus Evora Sport 410 Review: Power-to-Weight Ratio is the Name of the Game [VIDEO]
Lotus just recently unveiled its new evolution of the highly popular Lotus Evora 400 sports car, which was released back in 2015. The new 2018 Lotus Evora Sport 410 is the company's tribute to the iconic Lotus Esprit S1 sports car, which most would probably have remembered appearing in the "James Bond" movie, "The Spy Who Loved Me."
The new 2018 Lotus Evora Sport 410 will unfortunately not be able to submerge underwater, but it will be able to reach 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds. The new vehicle trumps its predecessor in all aspects thanks to its highly reduced weight, a full 70 kg lighter than the Evora 400, and its more potent engine.
The lighter and more powerful vehicle is equipped with a supercharged 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 410 horsepower, hence the name, and 420 nm of torque. The incredibly lightweight chassis and the improved engine results in a top speed of a blistering 305 km/h. This essentially takes the 2018 Lotus Evora Sport 410 into supercar territory.
According to CTV news, the company's CEO, Jean-Marc Gales, revealed that their aim for the 2018 Lotus Evora Sport 410 was to have it evoke the style of the iconic Lotus Esprit S1, but at the same time have it be worlds away in terms of its performance and abilities. While the vehicle itself is a stupendous track car, it likely will not be very good for daily use.
As per a report from Car Magazine, the 2018 Lotus Evora Sport 410 does lack a bit of refinement for daily use. The car has been stripped away from so many creature comforts that there is almost nothing left to speak of. Even the badges on the car have been replaced by stickers in order to save an extra 50 grams in weight. Most of the sound deadening materials have also been removed, making it very loud inside the cabin.
It has to be noted that the 2018 Lotus Evora Sport 410 was created not to be a daily driven vehicle, but more of an enthusiast's play thing. Would be buyers would, of course, need to have deep pockets as the 2018 Lotus Evora Sport 410 is expected to be priced somewhere around $199,990.
