'BRIT Awards' 2017 Winners: David Bowie, Beyonce, Drake, Adele Among Top Honorees [VIDEO]
The BRIT Awards took place Wednesday night in the U.K. where artists like Drake, Beyoncé, Little Mix and A Tribe Called Quest took home awards.
The late David Bowie won two BRIT Awards Wednesday night, including British Album of the Year for Blackstar and British Male Solo Artist. The deceased icon's son, Duncan Jones, accepted the Album of the Year award on his behalf while Michael C. Hall, who starred in the David Bowie-written musical Lazarus, accepted the British Male Solo Artist award.
The award for British Female Solo Artist went to Emeli Sandé, while The 1975 accepted the award for British Group. Rag'n'Bone Man won the award for British Breakthrough Artist.
Little Mix won the award for Best British Single for "Shout Out to My Ex", beating the likes of Alan Walker for "Faded", Calum Scott for "Dancing On My Own", Calvin Harris feat. Rihanna for "This Is What You Came For", Clean Bandit feat. Sean Paul & Anne-Marie for "Rockabye", Coldplay for "Hymn for the Weekend", James Arthur for "Say You Won't Let Go", Jonas Blue feat. Dakota for "Fast Car", Tinie Tempah feat. Zara Larsson for "Girls Like" and ZAYN for "Pillowtalk".
One Direction won the fan-voted British Video award for their "History" music video. The award was fittingly presented by Simon Cowell, who helped assemble the band on The X Factor back in 2010. Robbie Williams won the BRITs Icon Award, and Adele won the BRITs Global Success Award.
As for the international awards, Drake and Beyoncé won the awards for Male and Female Solo Artist, while A Tribe Called Quest won International Group.
The night featured performances by Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran, Chris Martin, Little Mix, Bruno Mars, The 1975, Emeli Sandé, Skepta and Robbie Williams.
