'The Winds of Winter' Release Date Still Uncertain; George R.R. Martin Confirms Book will Finish Soon
"The Winds of Winter" is George R. R. Martin's new book and fans have been anticipating the announcement of its release date. However, the author just cannot give any specific date at the moment since the book is actually still in the works.
Then again, despite this truth, Martin assured his readers that he will be finishing the book soon. He also revealed that he is already planning to write a new novel after the release of "The Winds of Winter" and this news should make fans happy.
Responding to the clamor for the distribution of "The Winds of Winter," Martin wrote on his blog page, "But the book's not done. Nor is it likely to be finished tomorrow, or next week." He added that a lot has already been written. Hundreds of pages and dozens of chapters but there are still lots of things left to be added in the story. The popular author then stated that he is still months away from finishing the book if the writing goes well.
Fans may have been a bit disappointed with the delay of "The Winds of Winter" but they were comforted by the fact that Martin has not stopped writing it and the story is actually in progress. In the meantime, while fans are waiting for his book, the author advised everyone to pick up Dozoi's "The Book of Swords" first since it includes his story titled "The Sons of the Dragon."
Martin clarified though that he did not work for Dozois and the book does not belong to him. It was just sort of short featuring so he is recommending it to his fans. The said book is expected to be in the market by Oct. 10.
Finally, George R.R. Martin's "The Winds of Winter" is the sixth novel in his fantasy series "A Song of Ice and Fire." This is the follow-up to the fifth chapter entitled "A Dance with Dragons" that was released six years ago, in July 2011.
