Katy Perry has once again pledged herself in opposition to bullying, and spread her message of hope for those in need through social media.

The singer took to Instagram Wednesday to continue the cause, sending a lengthy statement to fans speaking out against self-harming practices.

"Recently, I've been getting a lot of comments and tweets from fans who are struggling with self harm or being a victim of bullying. Which brings tears to my eyes," the singer wrote. "It's horrible to me. Don't ruin your skin, I think your skin is beautiful. Putting scars on your wrists or anywhere else is just heartbreaking for me."

For those experiencing the problem, the singer encouraged taking a one-day-at-a-time approach.

"I understand its hard," she continued. "I've never been through it but I have talked to fans like you. Just be clean for today, and see if you can go up to a week maybe? You can slowly progress to stop. I love you!"

Perry further instructed fans to be strong and embrace who they are -- "There's only one you in this world" -- and suggested that there's something better on the horizon for those who are hurt, and likely worse for those who do the hurting.

"Trust me," she asserted, "when you grow up and become successful those bullies will WISH they were friends with you and were nice to you. Karma will do payback to them, just watch."

One fan responded that they were once compelled to cut, but felt comforted by the singer's words.

"I thank god that I'm a katycat and have a amazing idol always there for us. Katy you've made me realize how important life is. I love you so much," the user posted.

The singer has taken the problem of bullying as one of her main causes. The picture accompanying the message, in which she holds up a sign reading "Be proud of who you are," showed her posed at an event for The Trevor Project, a charitable organization that seeks to prevent suicide by LGBTQ youth. In 2012, the organization awarded her their Hero award.

"I hope all LGBTQ youth know that they are as valuable as anyone else, that they are amazing and unique, and make the world a more vibrant place," the singer told guests at the ceremony. "Trevor's life-saving, life-affirming work helps youth find the future they deserve. I want every young person to choose to have a tomorrow and to dream for the future."

The singer is also bringing joy to people's lives in much smaller ways. Perry and actor Robert Pattinson made an impromptu visit to a wedding rehearsal in Montecito, Calif. on May 25. The two sat watching the procession before the bride made her way down the aisle.

"It was extra exciting for Tanya and John," a relative of bride Tanya Mayer and groom John Ricotta told People. "They were just sitting quietly and talking and we were on the lawn nearby. We respected their privacy."
