A concert benefiting Oklahoma victims and their families on Wednesday raised more than $6 million in pledges and ticket sales, according to organizers of the event.

A spokeswoman from the United Way of Central Oklahoma reported the figures after the Healing in the Heartland: Relief Benefit Concert on Thursday.

Several country singers, including Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Vince Gill, Reba McEntire and Rascal Flatts performed at the tribute. Other singers included Usher, Darius Rucker and Luke Bryan, and all the musicians encouraged viewers to donate to United Way's tornado relief fund by texting, calling or visiting the organization's Facebook page.

Shelton, who was wearing black at his performance, sang God Gave Me You to start off the program. He was followed by Lambert, who became emotional during her song and prompted the audience to sing along while she pulled herself together.

The only duo included The Voice judges Shelton and Usher, who performed Michael Buble's Home.

"Everyone has their way to help, and mine as an entertainer is to perform to help raise money and awareness for this tragedy. This is why I want to do this special and especially hold it in Oklahoma City, which is near ground zero," said Shelton on his website.

The money will go to the United Way of Central Oklahoma who will distribute the funds to organizations helping those who were affected by the tornado on May 20.
