Jessica Simpson High School [VIDEO]: Singer Posts 'A Chorus Line' Performance at J.J. Pearce High School for 'Throwback Thursday' on Twitter
Singer Jessica Simpson got nostalgic this Thursday when she tweeted a video showing one of her old performances from high school.
Simpson took part in Throwback Thursday, in which Twitter users post some blasts from the past with the hashtag #tbt. The five-minute YouTube clip shows her in her halcyon days at Richardson, Texas' J.J. Pearce High, taking part in a performance of A Chorus Line.
The now 32-year-old portrayed the character Cassie Ferguson, the successful performer whose career has fallen on hard times. Simpson could be seen wearing a red tank top and black leggings as she sings The Music And The Mirror. She also danced wildly, performing a series of hip rolls, twirls, and high leg kicks -- and, of course, the requisite jazz hands.
Simpson eventually dropped out of high school after she was signed to a record deal with Columbia Records. She later received an equivalency degree after her career took off.
Simpson works as a host and mentor on the NBC competition show Fashion Star. She also runs her own fashion line, the Jessica Simpson Collection, which has become a billion-dollar company.
Currently, she is also awaiting the birth of her second child with her fiancé, former NFL player Eric Johnson; she gave birth to her first child, Maxwell Drew Johnson early in 2012.
An U.S. Weekly report Thursday said that Simpson is planning to wed Johnson after she has her new baby. A source told the magazine that she told friends she's eager to get married after canceling previous plans because of her pregnancies.
"Jessica said, 'Let's have this wedding already before I get pregnant with another one!" the source revealed.
