Tarek El Moussa News & Update: 'Flip or Flop' Host Secretly Battled With Testicular Cancer
Tarek El Moussa revealed, in an interview with People, that he had been secretly battling testicular cancer. It can be recalled that the "Flip or Flop" host was also diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2013 following an email he received from a nurse who happens to be watching his show. He was advised to have his thyroid checked as there was a noticeable lump on his neck.
A few weeks after his thyroid diagnosis, Tarek El Moussa noticed an irregular testicular exam from his previous medical records. Out of fear for his life, the host decided to pursue further testing. With support coming from his estranged wife Christina El Mousa, the "Flip or Flop" star had his ultrasound done and was later on diagnosed with testicular cancer. He was advised to sign up for surgery.
Thanks to surgery and radioactive iodine therapy, it appears now that his cancer scare is finally over. Tarek El Moussa was, fortunately, able to win his battle against testicular cancer. However, even when both his cancer are now in remission, the "Flip or Flop" still decided to share his story to the public. The father of two says, his reason for coming out is to create awareness and be an inspiration to others who are also suffering from the same illness.
According to a report made by Enews, Tarek El Moussa had announced his split up with his then-wife, Christina El Moussa during his appearance on The Doctors in December. He blames his cancer diagnosis as well as their growing fame for their breakup. His past three years were not easy for him because of the stress and anxiety brought about by his medication, his back injury while playing golf and Christina's miscarriage. They filed for divorce in January.
The "Flip or Flop" star, Tarek El Moussa, now lives in Newport Beach after quietly moving out of his family's home in Yorba Linda. He's dated other people since their breakup but never really considered being in a serious relationship at the moment. For now, he's focused on "being the best father possible", he said.
