'Big Brother 15' Casting Rumors & Spoilers: Promo VIDEO Reveals 100-Day Season Will Feature Most House Guests Ever
CBS announced on May 30 that Big Brother 15 will be the longest-running in the show's history - a full 100 days.
Big Brother 15 is expected to premiere on June 26, the earliest start date ever for the summer reality series with Big Brother 9's winter premiere being the exception. Comparatively, the competition usually lasts between 71-88 days.
Host Julie Chen confirmed on The Talk in late April that Big Brother 15 will have the most houseguests ever, though the exact number has not been stated. Seasons 9 and 14 had 16 houseguests each, so it's possible that this summer could house up to 20 contestants.
The promo touts the new season as "100 Days of Summer" and says that in addition to starting earlier, it will be "going longer." The show usually ends in the middle of September, so it may extend further beyond that this year.
The Big Brother fan page on Facebook stated that half of this year's houseguests will be above the age of 35 and half under 28. It also said that there will be no returnees this season. One rumor claimed that there will be 18 houseguests. Neither CBS nor the show has officially confirmed either piece of information.
Fansite Big Brother Network predicted that the new cast will be announced on June 20, based on previous seasons' timelines. Additionally, CBS announced on May 29 that Big Brother: After Dark, the uncensored live feed that aired nightly on Showtime, will now be moving to the TV Guide Network.
Big Brother: After Dark will air from 12 a.m. - 2 a.m. every night on TVGN starting on June 26. The show is a live, uncut look into the Big Brother house. Big Brother 15 will premiere the same on CBS. The show traditionally airs three nights a week: Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday.
