Taylor Swift Harry Styles Relationship Was Not Started By Her? 'I Never Chase Guys,' She Says
Taylor Swift gave dating advice in a new interview and revealed that she would never chase a man or appear desperate to be with the guy.
The 23-year-old I Knew You Were Trouble singer was romantically linked last to One Direction's Harry Styles. The couple broke up shortly after New Years and since then she said she will not chase famous men to date her. In a recent interview she talked more about her dating preferences, saying she likes to be friends with guys before going out with them. She reportedly told Tiger Beat that she figured out how to get a boy interested in her when she was a teenager.
"I ran into this problem a lot when I was in Junior High because the guy I liked never noticed me," she said. "The best thing to do is give little hints. Go up and talk to him! But don't seem desperate. And never chase a boy."
Any potential boyfriend of hers she would like to get to know first on a platonic level. She thinks it is "always good to be somebody's friend first," adding, "if it escalates into something more, that's awesome. If not, now you've got another friend."
In any relationship, Swift said jealousy is a bad thing. She advised readers of the magazine to "never be jealous" but that being competitive is OK.
"If you're jealous in a relationship, it's because you're not confident in yourself."
Swift told the magazine she had her first kiss at 15 and admitted that she was one of the last of her friends to ever kiss a guy. She dated the respective guy for a year.
The singer is currently on her U.S. tour with Ed Sheeran but the two will travel to London to perform later in the month on the season finale of Britain's Got Talent.
