Miley Cyrus 'We Can't Stop' Premieres [AUDIO], New Album This Year
Miley Cyrus brings a whole new flavor with her new single We Can't Stop.
The hip-hop influenced track has a far different sound than her previous singles like Party in the U.S.A. and the ballad The Climb.
"Can't you see it's we who own the night? Can't you see it's we who about that life? And we can't stop," she sings.
The singer premiered the song, produced by Mike Will Made-It, on 102.7 KIIS FM's On Air With Ryan Seacrest on Monday.
For days prior to the release, however, Cyrus and her fans were trending the hashtag "we can't stop" on Twitter.
"It's trended everyday," the 20-year-old said. "My fans have really made it just such an insane experience and the lead up has been so crazy that this moment is nuts."
Cyrus, who recorded We Can't Stop a year ago, said prior to the release her friends and family were the only ones who had heard the song. However, this track is solely for her fans, she said.
"There's this group that's kind of really stood by me and no matter what I've been through and they are all just trying to live and love and have fun and I just think that's important like when you're young," she said. "I think this song is what people need to hear."
The former Hannah Montana actress is working on her new album and is getting some help from Wiz Khalifa, Future, Hit-Boy and Pharrell Williams. She also told the station that the album will be released sometime this year.
"I'm really happy with my record," she said. "My record is kind of like a movie, it's really a story of what I've been going through for the past two years of making the record."
The lead single We Can't Stop can be downloaded on iTunes.
