As it stands, the most expensive and relatively rambunctious Tesla that is currently available today would still have to be the company's all-electric Tesla Model X SUV. Not only is it expensive, but it has to be one of the most interesting vehicles commercially available in the market today.

For those that are interested in getting their hands on the sporty, yet green, SUV, here are a few things to know. As reported by Droid Report, the only real competitor that can really match the Tesla Model X as of the moment would have to be the other premium SUVs at its price point, namely the Range Rover, the Audi Q7, and the Volvo XC-90. Despite the long pedigree of its direct competition, the Tesla Model X is still able to keep up with the other vehicles in terms of performance, refinement, and technology.

Tesla Model X Design

The very first thing that would likely jump out for those who are seeing the vehicle for the first time, will likely be the SUV's rather flashy gullwing doors. The doors open upwards, giving drivers and passengers easy access to the car's interior. The overall design of the Tesla Model X is very minimalist, similar to its smaller siblings, as per a report from Auto Express.

Tesla Model X Technology and Powertrain

The interior technology found inside the Tesla Model X is relatively similar to the Tesla Model S. Model S users will likely find themselves in familiar space, as all the controls are still mounted in the same places. The Tesla Model X is equipped with the same 17-inch portrait display right in the center of the console. It is paired with another smaller screen behind the wheel.

The Tesla Model X is available in three distinct variants, which differ only in their battery capacities. The variants include the 75D with a 75kWh battery, the 90D with a 90kWh battery, and finally the Tesla Model X P100D with a whopping 100kWh battery pack. The most powerful variant, the P100D, is able to reach 62 mph in just 2.9 seconds. The Tesla Model X starts at around $95,000 for the 75D and as much as $135,000 for the P100D variant.
