Ben Affleck Update: 'Batman’ Star Completes Rehabilitation For Alcohol Addiction As Jennifer Garner Reconciliation Looms
Ben Affleck, one of the most popular actor to play the title role in the "Batman" movie, revealed through Facebook that he has already completed his alcohol rehabilitation. Affleck admitted as early as 2001 that he has opted to undergo rehabilitation at the age of 29 due to alcohol addiction.
The "Batman" star said he partied too hard and could not control his alcohol intake. Ben Affleck said he drank too much because he wanted to clear his head and discover his real self. It can be recalled that Affleck earlier gave up his "Batman" directorial job because he wanted to concentrate on playing Dark Knight.
"I have completed treatment for alcohol addiction; something I've dealt with in the past and will continue to confront," "Batman" lead star Ben Affleck said.
Ben Affleck, who is set to star in a standalone "Batman" movie, and wife Jennifer Garner of the "Alias" fame, announced their impending divorce in 2015. The two reportedly tried to work on saving their ten-year marriage even after the announcement, according to iTech Post. Despite his drinking problems, Affleck continued to do a great job as an actor, His movie "Argo" won an Academy Award for best picture. He also starred, directed and produced the movie.
The "Batman" star, however, started having problems after his movies, "The Accountant" and "Live by Night" did not do well at the box office. Ben Affleck's fans are however confident his next movie "Justice League," will fare well at the box office when it hits the theaters on Nov. 17.
Ben Affleck admitted that he has dealt with alcohol addiction in the past and vowed to continue to confront the problem, according to USA Today. The "Batman" said he wanted to live a full life so he could become the best father for his kids and husband to current wife Jennifer Garner. He wanted to provide strength for those who need help but do not have the guts to take the first step.
