While rumors circulated that Eminem's upcoming album would be released on July 2, the rapper's good friend doesn't think so.

Mr. Porter, a record producer and former member of the Detroit rap group D12, answered a few questions on Twitter on June 2, regarding Slim Shady's upcoming eighth studio album.

When asked if Eminem's album would be released before his European tour dates, Mr. Porter, whose real name is Denaun Porter, tweeted the reply, "That I doubt, but who knows."

Shady president Paul Rosenberg had also previously hinted that the rapper's album may be released after the tour.

"We fully expect to be releasing a new Eminem album in 2013. He's been working on it for some time," Rosenberg told Billboard in a February interview. "It's safe to say that it will be post-Memorial Day at some point, but we're not exactly sure when. We've got some dates locked in for him to perform live in Europe in August, so we're trying to see what else lines up."

Eminem will tour Europe in August with rappers Kendrick Lamar and Tyler the Creator. The tour will kick of on Aug. 15 in Belgium and will end 10 days later on Aug. 25 in the U.K. The full list of dates can be seen on his website.

The tour also encouraged one fan to ask whether or not those dates would be the last time Eminem would tour Europe. To that, Mr. Porter tweeted, "Not that I know of."

Following that tweet, another fan asked Mr. Porter, "have you produced anything on Ems upcoming album?" Porter, who has been friends with Eminem since before his rap success, left the fan in suspense by simply tweeting, "have to wait and see."

Despite the rumors that were started by Detroit's Channel 955 radio station, fans have yet to know when the official release date for Eminem's follow-up to 2010's multi-platinum Recovery will be.
