Olivier Martinez Confirms Engagement to Halle Berry, Reveals Ring Designer
French actor Olivier Martinez has confirmed his engagement to actress Halle Berry and unveiled the jewelry designer behind the ring.
"Yes, of course it's true," Martinez said about the engagement, on Saturday, according to Miami.com, during the opening of his restaurant Villa Azur in South Beach Saturday.
Martinez also gave details about the engagement ring and blamed a jeweler for taking credit for it.
"There is a jeweler taking credit for doing the ring and it's a lie! They have nothing to do with this," he said, according to Miami.com.
People Magazine reported in January that Martinez gave Berry a diamond-and-emerald engagement ring, citing jewelry designer Gurhan.
But Martinez said the ring was designed by Robert Mazio from Paris, whose family has designed jewelry for "kings and queens for many countries," according to the report.
The couple costarred in the movie "Dark Tide," in 2010 and soon became a couple off screen.
Martinez has dated a string of models and actresses including Kylie Minogue and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
Berry has been previously married to baseball player David Justice and singer Eric Benet.
She has a 3-year-old daughter Nahla with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry.
