Friends and family carried the coffin of Bollywood actress Jiah Khan on Wednesday to a crematorium in Mumbai after the star committed suicide two days earlier, according to The Associated Press.

The 25-year-old was found hanging in her apartment in Sagar Sangeet Building in the Juhu area on Monday night. No suicide note was found.

Her funeral in Mumbai was also attended by famed Bollywood actor Aditya Pancholi. Jiah was reportedly in a relationship with his son, Sooraj Pancholi.

Police on Tuesday questioned Sooraj since the actress had made her last phone call to him before ending her life. Jiah, according to police, last spoke to Suraj around 10:40 p.m. She was found dead in her apartment around midnight. Khan's mother and sister had briefly gone out of the house and the actress was alone when she killed herself.

Sooraj and Khan spoke over telephone a number of times on Monday before she committed suicide, sources said earlier.

Sidhartha Mallya, director of the Indian Premier League team Royal Challengers Bangalore, was photographed leaving the funeral. Earlier, Bollywood star Aamir Khan, Khan's co-star in her second film Ghajini, and actor Riteish Deshmukh, who worked with her in Housefull, visited her home to pay their respects.

Tributes poured into Twitter for the actress. Her 2007 Nishabd co-star, Amitabh Bachchan, wrote the following, along with others:

Ram Gopal Varma directed Khan's debut film. He sent out a series of tweets paying tribute to her "spunk and spirit."
