Jonah Hill, who became famous through starring roles in raunchy comedies like Superbad and Get Him to the Greek, is now taking himself seriously as an actor.

Hill recently sat down with Rolling Stone to promote his new comedy This Is The End, along with co-stars James Franco, Seth Rogen and Danny McBride.

The magazine first interviewed Franco, Rogen and McBride together before Hill showed up. Despite Rogen's warnings that Hill is very serious-minded, the interviewer was still shocked by the latter's candor. When Hill entered the room, the interviewer jokingly mistook him for the similar-looking Rogen, but Hill did not play along.

"I'm Jonah," he said, devoid of humor, "That's a great way to start."

Hill answered many questions in a very serious manner, such as when the interviewer asked him if he had ever gotten in a fistfight. He plainly replied that he may have gotten in fistfights as a child but he uses his words now.

When the interviewer asked him what kind of "farter" he is, the 29-year-old actor nearly turned around and left.

"I'm not answering that dumb question!" he exclaimed, "I'm not that kind of person! Being in a funny movie doesn't make me have to answer dumb questions. It has nothing to do with who I am."

Hill has been taking on serious roles over the past few years. He starred in 2011's Moneyball, for which he was nominated for an Oscar, and has a role in the upcoming Martin Scorsese film The Wolf of Wall Street.

"I've done one of the biggest challenges you can do in Hollywood, which is transition from being a comedic actor to being a serious actor, and I'm really prideful of that," he explained, "I could have made a billion dollars doing every big comedy of the last 10 years and didn't, in order to form a whole other life for myself. Now I have fulfillment doing both."

The interviewer concluded that he had no idea what to make of Hill but that there was much more to him than once imagined.

The complete interview will be in the June 20 issue of Rolling Stone.
