Mariah Carey will return with a new record this summer.

The singer announced on her Twitter account Wednesday that her 11th studio album will be released on July 23.

"The New Era Begins," she tweeted on June 5.

Her song #Beautiful, which premiered in May and features singer Miguel, is the album's lead single. The single is currently No. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Carey had a phone interview with On Air With Ryan Seacrest in May where she spoke about the collaboration.

"I'm a huge fan of his music and I think everybody is so blown away by him right now," she said. "And I have to say this about him as a collaborator, sometimes when you haven't worked with somebody you don't know really what they do in the studio and if they have the same kind of love for music that I have and he's the truth. We just wanted to do something different that has a texture that feels fresh."

Aside from Miguel, Carey has been in the studio with Bryan Michael Cox, Big Jim Wright, Hit-Boy, The-Dream, Mike Will Made It and Rodney Jerkins. She also is working with Always Be My Baby producer Jermaine Dupri who she told Seacrest is her "very good friend."

The singer has yet to reveal the album's title but in an interview with Billboard in March she did say what fans can expect to hear on it.

There will be "a lot more raw ballads than people might expect," she said.

"Where we go with this project, I've tried to keep the soul and heart in it," she added.

The album will be the follow-up to Carey's Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel released in 2009. That album peaked at No. 3 on Billboard.

The mother of two is also planning a world tour to promote the album and announced in May that she will not be returning to her judging seat on American Idol.
