On the May 26 episode of Mad Men, entitled The Better Half, Megan wore a red-starred tee-shirt that harkened back a 1967 Sharon Tate Esquire shoot.

Since then, conspiracy theories have been abound amongst fans of the show over the suspected fate of the character.

But one writer has taken his own theories to another level.

Writer Dustin Rowles of Uproxx.com has developed a new conspiracy theory in a lengthy blog post published Thursday. He has the idea that Megan, who only made an appearance on the following episode in a drug-induced hallucinations, has somehow already died.

Rowles began by reminding fans of Don's propensity for hallucinating dead people. He previously envisioned his dead brother Adam and Anna Draper. For the latter, he saw her holding a suitcase, only to find out the next morning she had died of cancer.

In the most recent episode, A Tale Of Two Cities, Don smokes hashish at a party in Los Angeles, and visualizes a ghostly version of Private Dinkins, the soldier he encountered at the Hawaii hotel bar and whose wedding he served as witness. He also talks with a pregnant Megan, whom he questioned about her presence. The daydream Megan said that she lives "here," but Rowles suggested that it is not meant as California, but rather the afterlife.

These hallucinations did relay some wisdom to Don, Rowles continued. Dinkins suggested that "dying doesn't make you whole," while Megan allegedly send shim back to the land of the living, as "everyone is looking for you."

At that moment, he is saved from drowning in the pool.

Rowles also suggested that color has been a factor related to previous character deaths. For his example, he presented a brief scene of Megan in the Draper home from next week's preview, wearing a black top and loose red pants -- he then contrasted that outfit with an item of clothing on the late Lane Pryce, who wore a similarly colored striped tie on the episode last season where he died.

Rowles even used the brief snippets of dialogue between the couple to further postulate the theory.

A shocked Don asked the black and red-clad Megan, "You're not really here, are you?"; she responded, "I didn't know if I should tell you."

Rowles suspected that she wanted to reveal her pregnancy, before her untimely death.

But will any of this actually come to pass? Even Rowles questioned his own theory.

"I'm clearly drinking the Sharon Tate Kool-Aid," he wrote. "But, it certainly does connect up in la-la land, at least, and you don't have to squint very hard."

Rowles added that theorizing was fun either way.

The next episode of Mad Men, Favors, airs Sunday night.
