Britney Spears officially announces dates of final Las Vegas shows
Britney Spears is now ready to close another chapter of her life. The popular pop recording artist has officially released the dates of her final concerts in Las Vegas that runs from September to December 2017.
The final leg of "Britney: Piece of Me" will consist of 18 shows in total. It is going to be held at The AXIS at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, Entertainment Tonight reported.
The final show is going to kick off on September 3. It will be followed on October 11, 13, 14, 18, 20, 21, 25, 27, 28; November 1, 3, 4; and December 19, 27, 28, 30, 31. Tickets are expected to become available to the public on Friday, April 14.
"As I prepare to say goodbye to Piece of Me, I had no idea how magical this experience would be," the 35-year-old artist said in a statement. "Having my fans from around the world come see my show has been amazing. I love Las Vegas and will miss performing this show."
The "Britney: Piece of Me" show first opened on Dec. 27, 2013, according to Las Vegas Weekly. Spears then signed a two-year extension in Fall of 2015. The show has grossed over $100 million of ticket sales as of January 2017.
It opened several resident productions in Las Vegas due to the massive success of "Britney: Piece of Me." A couple of the notable performances include Jennifer Lopez and the Backstreet Boys.
Caesars Entertainment senior vice president of marketing and entertainment, Jason Gastwirth, hasn't closed all the doors yet despite Spears' decision to leave. Gastwirth, on his statement on Monday, revealed that Spears' residency has revolutionized the entertainment landscape in Las Vegas. "We look forward to working together with Britney again in the future," he continued to note on the statement.
The pop princess has yet to reveal her future plans if she would renew or extend her stay in Las Vegas to perform more shows at The AXIS.
