Julia Roberts may be a box office megastar, but her three children won't be seeing their mom in theaters any time soon.

Roberts and her cinematographer husband, Danny Modor, generally keep their brood away from both the big and small screens.

"We have a pretty rigid viewing feeling in our house," Roberts says.

The couple's children -- 7-year-old twins Hazel and Finn and 4-year-old Henry -- will have to miss out on Roberts' upcoming family movie Mirror, Mirror.

"I think they are (too young) considering the part that I play," Roberts told reporters at a press conference for the film. Roberts plays Snow White's evil queen in the flick.

Her family's quality time is more about books and conversation.

"Those nice, cozy, very short hours before bed, we just really spend together as a family talking and sharing the day and reading books, and really, before you know it, it's time for bed," she shares. "Part of it is there's just not time for that. We would prefer something different in that time."

As they grow older, the kids will eventually get to see their mom in the numerous roles she has embraced over the years, but for now it's "stories and poetry and talking, sharing ideas."

"They do get to watch some things," Roberts says. "But for us, we just feel there's a real time and a place for it."
