While Paris Jackson is in the hospital recovering from a reported suicide attempt, she at least doesn't have to worry about losing her first starring role in a movie when she is discharged.

The 15-year-old is set to play in Lundon's Bridge and the Three Keys. The late Michael Jackson's daughter will play the heroine in the film, which is an adaptation of a book with the same name written by Dennis Christen. The author, who is also one of the film's producers and writer of its screenplay, isn't turning his back on Paris.

"It's the first sings of trouble, and we don't want to be the kinds of producers that say, OK, you're out," he told The Daily Beast, in a report published on Thursday. "We want to back her. She is right now our girl."

The fantasy adventure is set to have five installments and Paris is planned to play in each. Her character, Lundon O' Malley, is the daughter of a marine biologist who works with a dolphin. With the help of this dolphin, Lundon is on a mission to find the three keys that will help fight against pollution.

Having Paris sign on to this film wasn't easy, according to same report.

"There are members of the Jackson family that have been from the beginning against Paris doing this film," Christen said. "The other person we had to convince to agree was her grandmother Katherine [Jackson]. She actually turned us down 10 times. Literally, 10 times: 'No, no, no.'"

Paris discussed her role in the film during her December 2011 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

"I know that my dad always wanted to heal the world, and I think it would be great to follow in his footsteps and try to just help the world," she said.

While reports are pointing to bullying as a reason for Jackson's suicide attempt, she didn't allude to any of that in the interview. After DeGeneres asked her, "How are you enjoying school?" She replied, "I love it, it's definitely a different experience."

"I'm treated the same," she added, in regards to other students.
