Ciara is being sued by the club The Factory for backing out of a gay pride event that was to be held at the venue this week, TMZ reported Friday.

The West Hollywood gay bar filed suit against the Goodies singer for breach of contract. The club claimed that the R&B star signed a $10,000 deal to appear at The Factory on June 7. She was also scheduled to perform during the 2013 L.A. Pride Festival on Saturday. However, the lawsuit contended that Ciara notified officials at the club that she would not be able to perform at the club because of restrictions in her contract with the parade.

She informed the club that she could at least make an appearance. However, by Monday, Ciara completely pulled out of the gig and left the club without a performer for its pre-L.A. pride event the suit alleged.

The Factory is now asking a judge to order Ciara to pay for all the money they spent promoting her appearance. The club has also asked to be financially reimbursed by the dancer for the money they have lost because of Ciara's last minute cancelation.

A representative for the 27-year-old denied the accusations to the website. The rep insisted that Ciara reneged on the deal before it was ever finalized. The PR flack also took The Factory to task for continuing to advertise an appearance by the singer even after they were given notification that she would not be participating.

"Ciara's commitment to perform at LA Gay Pride on Saturday night prevented her from making such a Friday night appearance. Despite being notified early last week that Ciara could not appear, the Factory continued to market and promote Ciara's appearance," the rep said.

The rep continued that this lawsuit was possibly being pursued to portray Ciara in a negative manner. Ciara has not tweeted about the matter but did promote her upcoming appearance at the L.A. pride event Thursday.

"Who's gonna be #turntup with Ciara at the @LAPRIDE Festival on Saturday, June 8th in West Hollywood, CA? - Team Ciara," she tweeted.
