'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' Season 8, Episode 2 Recap VIDEO (WATCH)
Three story lines captivated viewers of Keeping Up with the Kardashians that tuned in to the Sunday episode: Rob Kardashian's weight loss, Brody Jenner airing out his issues with his father and the Kardashian sisters pursuing legal action to fight tabloid rumors about their mother.
Rob put on at least 50 pounds since his rumored split from pop singer Rita Ora and his sisters, Kim and Khloe, hatched a plan behind his back to help him shed the pounds. He said he felt like an "embarrassment" to his family.
"I've never felt so depressed and down in my life," Rob told his sisters.
Kim scheduled for Rob to have a session with her trainer, Gunnar Peterson. When Rob stood her up, Kim left him a voicenmail message telling him he was "f-kin rude." Later, Kim and Khloe tried to get Rob to "eat too much until he became sick" and that plan also backfired - he admitted that eating too much was "a dream, this is what I do." Kim and Khloe eventually decide to leave him alone until he's ready to lose weight.
Brody Jenner spent time with his father, Bruce Jenner, and the latter's daughters, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner. Brody expressed jealousy from seeing how well his father interacted with the girls; he told Bruce that he was an absentee father when he grew up. In another clip, he told Kim he could recall many birthdays when his father was not there for him.
Brody told Bruce in a one-on-one meeting, "It's interesting to see how you are with the other girls...you weren't around for me as a kid." Before Brody could finish his confrontation, Bruce interjected and told him, "Now is not the time to talk about it."
In another segment, the Kardashian sisters band together when they find out that their father's widow made up lies about their mother. Kris Jenner, to tabloids in exchange for money. They hired a private investigator and an attorney to put an end to the lies, including one that Kris was abusive to the children.
Kris admitted that the tabloid rumors were causing her to have an anxiety attacks, and she got upset when Kylie said her friends at school asked if Kris was abusive.
"I would never claim to be the perfect parent...," Kris said, "but this woman is really crossing the line and accusing me of doing things I would never dream about doing. It's really wrong what she's done. I just can't."
The hired detective learned the woman, Ellen Pearson, had been married multiple times before she married the late Robert Kardashian. She also filed for bankruptcy twice, so she allegedly made up the stories for financial gain.
