Warriors To Face Cavaliers On Christmas Day Game For Third Consecutive Season
The Golden State Warriors will face the Cleveland Cavaliers in Christmas Day game and these two NBA teams will face each other for two consecutive seasons already. Additionally, since Warriors is the defending champion in the league, the team will be given the reward of holding the game at the Oracle Arena on December 25.
During their game on Christmas Day last year, ESPN reported that the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Golden State Warriors with the help of Kyrie Irving's shot in the last 3.4 seconds of the game. Lebron James also contributed 31 points and this game was considered as one of the best games of the regular season.
Aside from the match to be played between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors, NBA also announced the games in the first week of the upcoming season. Again, the Cavs and the Warriors will play on October 17, 2017, the opening night of the season. It was also mentioned that the Cavs will host the Boston Celtics in what they call as the rematch of the Eastern Conference finals.
Moreover, Warriors Central claimed that the Golden State Warriors will also host the Houston Rockets at 10:30 p.m. after the ring ceremony to be held at the Oracle Arena. Therefore, on Christmas, NBA fans will expect for five games with the inclusion of some fresh faces in the league.
In addition, the Philadelphia 76ers' will also face the New York Knicks and it was claimed that the team will be playing on Christmas for the first time since the year 2001. One thing more, the fans were anticipating if Carmelo Anthony or Kyrie Irving will be joining that game since the two top players are being involved in trade talks at the moment.
Meanwhile, in the third game of the day, the Celtics will also face the Washington Wizards at 5:30 p.m. ET. It can be recalled that these two NBA teams have committed flagrant fouls and harsh words in the past two seasons and this will be a rematch between two growing rival teams.
