Queen Elizabeth Reaches Out To President Trump, Expresses Sympathy Towards Hurricane Harvey Victims
Queen Elizabeth just expressed her sympathy to the victims of Hurricane Harvey in Texas by reaching out to US President Donald Trump. It can be recalled that the said hurricane caused lots of damage to life in Houston, Texas because of the massive flooding.
In a statement which was released last Friday, PEOPLE reported that the Queen said that she was "deeply saddened to learn of the loss of life and the devastation following the recent terrible floods caused by Hurricane Harvey." The Queen was aware with the degree of aftermath and devastation by the said hurricane.
"Prince Philip and I send our sincere condolences to the victims of this disaster, to those who have lost loved ones, and to those who have seen their homes and property destroyed," Queen Elizabeth continued in her statements. She relayed her thoughts and prayers to those who were affected.
Last June, Telegraph claimed that the Queen paid an emotional visit to the survivors of the deadly fire which happened at Grenfell Tower. She was then accompanied by her grandson and second heir to the throne, Prince William as they met with first responders from the Emergency Services and also with the community representatives and local residents.
In the latest report, the Hurricane Harvey caused damage to at least 49,000 homes in Texas, in information which was released by the Texas Department of Public Safety. Because of this, the government administered the mandatory evacuation of 785,000 people in Texas and Louisiana. Moreover, out of these, still, there are more than 200, 000 homes without power until now.
As the said storm made landfall in Texas last August 25, it was listed as Category 4 hurricane right away. Then after flooding Texas, Hurricane Harvey move on to the neighboring states of Louisiana. At the moment, the local officials are now allowing some evacuees to return to their homes and properties and the process of rebuilding their lives starts also.
