Since Katy Perry and John Mayer broke up earlier in the year, the singers have been spotted spending more time in and out of the studio working on new music.

Katy Perry, 28, was photographed coming out of the same Los Angeles recording studio as Adam Levine on June 5. Perez Hilton reported that confirmed collaborators Sia and DJ Diplo have also been spotted earlier in June making music with Perry, whose upcoming album will debut sometime this summer.

She said in April the record was halfway finished and that she is working again with producers responsible for the work on Teenage Dream, including Max Martin, Greg Wells, Dr. Luke, Bonnie McKee and Sia. She also confirmed that the album contains a completed track titled Double Rainbow.

As for Perry's ex-boyfriend, shortly after she was spotted leaving the studio was Levine, photographers caught Mayer heading over to the Larrabee Studios in North Hollywood to make some music of his own. His last album was 2012's Born and Raised and before that, he had not released a record since 2006's Continuum.

Mayer, 35, announced on his Facebook page in late May that he is hard at work on his sixth studio album. The post also said that he plans on posting weekly behind-the-scenes videos. His second video, posted on June 4, is show below.

Mayer returned to performing in January of 2013 after being sidelined for 10 months to treat granuloma on his vocal cords. He performed at a charity concert in Bozeman, Mont., which he organized to assist firefighters who battled the Pine Creek wildfire in the summer of 2012.

Mayer begins a summer tour in July with American Idol winner Phillip Phillips as his opening act. He confirmed news of their breakup with Perry during a guest appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on March 2, saying, "Coupling is a tricky thing."
