Linkin Park Mourns Chester Bennington's Death By Releasing 'One More Light'
The official video for the song title track "One more light" which is directed by Joe Hahn and Mrak Fiore premiered on Monday on the band's social media sites.
According to a press release reported by Variety, "Initially, the song had not been scheduled as a single, but the strong connection with fans in the weeks following Bennington's passing brought the track to the forefront."
"This is my favorite video we've ever made, and simultaneously the hardest for me to watch", wrote Linkin Park's guitarist Dave Farrell on Twitter.
"It has been incredibly emotional to work on this, and especially to watch it", wrote Joe Hahn, director of the video on twitter. "I feel that by doing it, we not only faced some of our biggest fears, but it enabled us to use our talents to bring some light to people that need it."
Joe also wrote, "As we move forward to the Hollywood Bowl show and beyond, I think about the people that connect with the band, outside and inside our circle. The video is a gesture of good will to the people that want that connection."
The surviving members of Linkin Park have declared a special show in honor of their late band member Chester Bennington. The one-night-only performance will be held in at The Hollywood bowl in Los Angeles, October 27, on Friday.
The band's five members will be joined by "number of other artists" according to a report by Los Angeles.The band members plan to donate their performance fees from the show to Music for Relief's One More Light Fund in memory of Bennington.
Pre-sale for tickets starts Tuesday, September 19, and general tickets on Friday, September 22.
