Dark skin is a Yes with Rihanna's Fenty Beauty
If there is one thing the beauty brands are trying to compete with, that would be signature cosmetics. Many such brands are alluring to consumers in the upscale market in the recent days. Sales of celebrity perfumes and foundations have caught up in the last two decades and the biggest stars in the world have created their own brand of signature cosmetics. Rihanna is headed in same direction and her brand of cosmetics is appealing to dusky consumers.
According to the Fader, her debut cosmetic launch last week has been received well and fans have appreciated Fenty Beauty. The brand's concealers and highlighters and 40 shades of foundation are designed to work on all skin tones.
The brand's diversity is intriguing. Rihanna's efforts to focus on the cosmetic industry market, that was being ignored for decades, makes Fenty unique. According to Pop Sugar, this is the reason why Sephora locations are seeing more customers of color than ever before.
Cosmetics that let you emulate celebrities' upscale lifestyles are the need of the hour. Rihanna's idea of creating an extension of darker shade has taken the cosmetic industry by storm. "There needs to be something for a really pale girl, there needs to be something for someone in between", she argued in an interview with Refinery 29.
Everyone needs to hear @rihanna talk about why creating inclusive makeup shades is so important. @fentybeauty pic.twitter.com/kdzETuhTrQ
