Tamar Braxton Instagram: Singer Explains Unfollowing Friends On Social Media [VIDEO]
It’s been a few months since Tamar Braxton fell out with some of her closest friends on Instagram and now we know why.
Braxton stopped by The Wendy Williams Show Thursday and explained why she cut ties with ladies like Monica, Kandi Burruss, and her close friend Tiny Harris on Instagram. This all happened just after Braxton was fired from daytime talk show The Real.
“Nope [no beef], everything is amazing,” Braxton said of her friendship with Harris. “I just supported her last week with her with her basketball game, we hung out in Vegas, we got our entire life.”
While she threw in a little shade at Toya Wright, who she’s still feuding with after Wright called out Braxton in her book.
[Sidenote: Wright wrote that Braxton was upset with any of her friends who went on The Real and anyone who supported them after Braxton was fired. Wright also accused Braxton of preventing her from appearing as a guest on the show when Braxton was a co-host.]
Since then, Braxton has made up with the other ladies but still has a few snide words for Wright when she explained why she “unfollowed” them on Instagram.
“I’m gonna go back to the day when everybody got in their feelings and wrote books about me unfollowing them. I unfollowed Monica, I unfollowed Tiny, I unfollowed Kandi…I unfollowed everybody that day that posted THAT show,” she said referring to The Real. “I was rightfully in my feelings, it was nothing personal.”
As for Monica, Braxton said, “She wasn’t even on ‘The Real’ that day, I unfollowed everybody because I didn’t wanna see it. I had every intent of following everybody back. I unfollowed at least 30 people that day, when I went to follow her back she had blocked me.”
It looks like all is well because Braxton and Monica are going on tour with the ladies of XScape, including Harris and Burruss, this year.
Also during the interview, Braxton opened up about her marriage following her statement that she is retiring from music to save her marriage.
“You’re a married husband who works closely with your husband,” she told Williams. “It’s not easy. Let’s look at Sonny & Cher, let’s look at Mariah and Tommy. I don’t want to end up like that. So for me I have to take a step back and figure out what’s working and what’s not working.”
Braxton said she came to this “revelation” after going through lots of disappointments in the public eye (i.e. losing her job and rumors that she and Herbert were splitting for good).
“I just found myself on a quest for happiness by any means necessary.”
