2 Chainz Robbed VIDEO Footage Revealed of San Francisco Incident
TMZ obtained video of the brazen robbery attempt on rapper 2 Chainz, which occurred in San Francisco on Sunday.
According to the security camera video, the rapper and his entourage were walking along a street in the California city, ahead of the rapper's appearance at the Oakland Summer Jam concert, when they were approached by two men, one could be seen holding what appeared to be a gun.
The alleged gunman came over to the rapper from the street on his right, and got in front of him with his weapon drawn. The rapper and his friends appeared to have been backed into a storefront before they proceeded to turn and run in the direction from which they came.
In a strange turn of events, the gunman appeared to skip down the street as he followed after the group.
Footage taken from another angle showed the rapper being chased into the street by his assailants, before being brought down to the ground and held by the gunman on the street's corner.
Police sources told TMZ.com that the rapper's wallet and cell phone had been taken from him during the robbery.
However, 2 Chainz later denied that the incident had ever even occurred on Twitter.
"Rule #1 if a rapper gets robbed people usually post items that has been taken. Rings, chains, watch, money etc.," he wrote on the social media platform. "Rule #2 if a rapper gets shot he usually go to hospital or dies."
Finally, he added, "Nobody took Anything from me, i didn't get shot, I'm not in jail, Don't know wut else to tell ya. Sorry if I disappointed anyone, maybe next time. (sic)"
The rapper, born Tauheed Epps, has also recently run afoul of the law, after he was arrested Tuesday at Los Angeles International Airport for drug possession. Security officials found in his checked baggage marijuana and the drug promethazine, an ingredient used to make "sizzurp," the codeine and soda cocktail sometimes found in the Southern rap scene.
