'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Casting News: Alexander Skarsgard Re-emerges As A Top Christian Grey Candidate? VIDEO
Amid a slew of strong candidates for the part of the S&M-crazed billionaire Christian Grey, True Blood heartthrob Alexander Skarsgard has re-emerged as a potential 50 Shades of Grey suitor.
Courtesy of the recent rumors of the 36-year-old being romantically involved with East co-star Ellen Page, the female-favored Swede has once again resurfaced on the Internet.
The shooting of the 2013 thriller starring Skarsgard and Page had ignited rumors that they're onscreen chemistry had parlayed into real-life. However, both insist that they're only "really good friends," according to International Business Times.
The Fifty Shades of Grey premise revolves around Anastasia Steele, who gets herself involved in a dominant and submissive sexual relationship with Grey. Through a mutual "agreement," the two delve into the world of bondage and masochism.
Screenwriter Kelly Marcel, who is currently working on the movie script, said that she'd be adhering to the context of the books with lots of sex and raunchiness. Producers of the highly anticipated flick are said to be shooting for an NC-17 rating, according to a write-up in Style magazine.
Although they've yet to officially attach a director to the franchise, 50 Shades of Grey is slated for its big screen release in summer of 2014, and will be shot in London. The official trailer for East can be watched below.
