Miley Cyrus pays tribute to Victims of Las Vegas Tragedy
In light of recent Las Vegas shooting tragedy and staggering death toll, singer Miley Cyrus along with actor Adam Sandler paid tribute to the victims on Jimmy Fallon's "The Tonight Show".
The 25-year-old singer and Sandler performed a moving rendition of Dido's No love without freedom song remembering the victims. She also performed from "The climb" after a gap of 6 years.
They covered the lines 'No Love without Freedom ...No Freedom without love' as Miley kicked off her Miley week on the Fallon show on Monday.
"So we started this week off with a song. I haven't performed in years...#TheClimb. These words mean more now to me than ever..."Keep The Faith" .....sending love to ALL!," Miley tweeted ahead of the show.
Miley also sang from her popular and random musical style in the "Musical Genre Challenge" and thanked Sandler for joining her. "No Love without Freedom ...No Freedom without LOVE. Thank you so much to Adam Sandler for joining me tonight in remembering all those lost," she wrote on Twitter.
Apart from singing songs, Miley also sent across the message of unity, peace and hopefulness on her social media platform.
"In honor of the lives lost, injured and affected by the tragic shooting in Vegas, @fallontonight & I dedicated this show to not only mourning this horrific event but using this platform to encourage unity, peace & hopefulness!" she wrote. On Sunday night, a gunman opened fire killing 59 people and injuring hundreds of those present at the country music festival in Las Vegas.
Soon after the attack, celebrities and personalities took to social media to express grief and pay tributes to the victims of the horrific act. Rihanna, Hillary Clinton, Ariana Grande and several others mourned over the loss of lives on Twitter.
