While Brad Pitt was in Australia to promote his latest movie World War Z, he had no problem becoming acquainted with the culture.

During his June 12 appearance on the Australian television show The Project, the actor was offered some Vegemite. The 49-year-old actor said that he had never tried the Australian salty spread, despite hearing about it in the song Down Under performed by Men At Work.

"I will try it," said Pitt.

While one of the show's anchors went to grab Pitt a piece of bread to eat the spread with, he said it wasn't necessary.

"Let's not mess around, let's get to it," he said before taking a sample with his fingers.

"I could see how it could work on a like cracker or bread," he said after tasting it. "You kind of need a beer with it."

A few days before his Vegemite experience, the actor took his son Pax on a boat trip on June 10. The father and son enjoyed their day on a yacht named Ghost. Just the night prior to his boat ride, Pitt was on the red carpet promoting his action film, World War Z.

On Tuesday, the star left Australia and traveled with his son to Seoul, South Korea, to continue the movie's promotion. After arriving at the Kimpo International Airport, the actor waved at photographers and fans while 9-year-old Pax hid behind a big purple teddy bear. See photos here.

In the film, he plays Gerry Lane, a United Nations employee who tries to stop a Zombie pandemic which could kill human life. The movie hits U.S. theaters on June 21 and stars Mireille Enos, James Badge Dale and Matthew Fox.

Pitt has high hopes for the film, recently joking at a Los Angeles screening that he'll give fans their money back if they hate it.

"[World War Z] is big, it's bold, it's bada--. You've never seen anything like it. It's the most intense thing you'll see all summer. If not, we'll give you your money back," he said, according to E Online.
