Oprah Winfrey Never Visited Bank for 3 Decades, Why?
Not everyone gets to deposit a check as huge as this. Oprah Winfrey visited her bank after 3 decades after and the media mogul revealed on the Ellen Degeneres Show, Monday that she carried along a check of over $2 million.
Winfrey hasn't been to the bank since 1988 and this went on to be a reason for her return to one of the ordinary branches of her bank where she went with a giant check in hand worth $2 million, reported NewYorkDaily News.
She had loads to talk about it with TV host Ellen during a round of "Burning Questions". It took them a while to digest the fact that Winfrey didn't even have a PIN number to draw cash from the bank.
At one point, the talk show host asked Winfrey, "What's your ATM pin number?" but Winfrey's quick response was, "I don't have one." And Winfrey continued asking Ellen, "When's the last time you went to the bank, Ellen?" "A long, long time ago," unsuspecting Ellen replied. "When I deposited, like, $5,000 and I was so excited," she added.
"Yeah, I went to the bank recently because I hadn't been to the bank since 1988," Winfrey replied casually surprising many watching the show.
Winfrey revealed that she deposited a million dollar check initially but later raised the bar on the total up to a whopping $2million.
"What did you go to the bank for?" asked a very surprised Ellen.
"To deposit a million dollars," Winfrey answered."Really, as like a check?" quipped Ellen.
"Yeah, I just wanted to go there just to do it. I stood in line, just to do it," Winfrey admitted.
"How did it feel?" inquired Ellen. "It felt fantastic, It was fantastic!" she replied to Ellen who was amused after what Winfrey said. They both exploded with uncontrollable laughter before Winfrey added, "Actually, it was $2 million."
