Police obtained medical reports related to late actress Jiah Khan's abortion from the hospital were the procedure was conducted, authorities said Wednesday.

"There have been no new developments so far. We have received the medical reports from the hospital where the fetus was aborted," a police officer told IANS.

Zameer Khan, the lawyer of arrested suspect Suraj Pancholi, said they will give out more information on Thursday.

Police arrested Pancholi on Tuesday for allegedly abetting the suicide of Khan, his reported girlfriend. Authorities believe that he was not present at the time of the actress's suicide. However, police said that before Khan killed herself, Pancholi spent two nights with the actress. Khan also made her last phone call to him before ending her life. They last spoke at around 10:40 p.m. The 25-year-old hanged herself at her Juhu residence between 11 p.m. and 11.30 p.m.

He will be questioned in police custody until June 13, according to Dawn.com.

Khan mentioned her abortion in her six-page suicide letter found in her handbag three days after her suicide, which took place on June 3. The note was found by her mother.

"I don't know how to say this to you but I might as well now as I have nothing to lose. I've already lost everything. If you're reading this I might have already left or about to leave," she wrote. "These days I see no light I wake up not wanting to wake up. There was a time I saw my life with you, a future with you. But you shattered my dreams. I feel dead inside."

"I was scared of getting pregnant but I gave myself completely the pain you have caused me everyday has destroyed every bit of me, destroyed my soul," she added further down in the letter.

Police sought out medical records of the abortion to confirm claims made in the suicide note.
