"Stranger Things" Season 2 is Just as Good as You'd Imagine!
Grab your candy-corn and keep the lights on, "Stranger Things" Season 2 is set to premiere on October 27th!
The Netflix original series was met with high acclaim after the release of it's first season. Now, just in time for Halloween, earlier reviews state that the second season is just as deliciously nostalgic, and eerie as it's predecessor.
When we last saw the pint-sized adventurerer's, Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard) and his two best friends, Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) and Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) were searching for their missing best friends, Will Beyers (Noah Schanpp) that mysteriously vanished after leaving Mike's house. The entire first season is an 8 episode arc, that feels like a never-ending movie, shows his loyal friends risking life and death(literally) trying to save their friend with the help of a psychokinetic young girl who they named "Eleven" (Millie Bobby Brown).
In addition, there's another storyline involving Will's older brother Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) who is a social outcast amongst his peers due to his obligations to his depressed mother Joyce (Winona Ryder) and his love of photography, that ironically has his eyes set on Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer), Mike's older sister.
Winona Ryder received critical acclaim for her portrayal of the pitied but determined mother who did not give up hope on finding her son. Mille Bobby Brown also recieved high praise for her portrayal of Eleven and her connection to the seasons grotesque monster. The shows leading man, Finn Wolfhard, has now transitioned to the big screen with his role as Richie Tozier in the blockbuster hit movie, "IT".
Season 2 is set to pick up right a year after Will's return home, where everything seems to have gone back to normal, but of course that wouldn't make it appealing to watch. Will is still suffering from his encounter with the "Upside Down" world, Nancy is devastated by the loss of her Barb, who was taken and killed by the monster while Nancy was with her boyfriend, and Eleven, who vanished in the season finale, will return. Stranger Things gives a considerable to the classic 80's movies by adding Sean Astin (The Goonies) and Paul Reiser (Aliens) to the cast.
The Emmy-nominated series was created by the Duffer Brothers, who are protegees of the mastermind of psychological thrillers, M.Night Shymalan.
Early reviews for this season have nothing sort of praise and admiration for the cast, the pace of each episode, and the writing.
"Stranger Things" Season 2 will premiere on Netflix, October 27th.
