Julianna Marguiles Accuses Steven Seagal And Harvey Weinstein Of Sexual Harassment
The list of Harvey Weinstein's alleged victims seems to continue to get longer by the minute. Actress Julianna Margulies has come forward and accused the Hollywood producer of sexually harassing her. In addition, the actress also claims that fellow actor, Steven Seagal, has harassed her as well.
During an interview on Friday with Sirus XM's Just Jenny, Margulies recounted the horrible incident she experienced with Seagal. The actress stated that was twenty-two years old at the time and was sent to Seagal's home for an audition by a casting director.
The actress said that the casting director was suppose to be present during the audition, but when she arrived at Seagal's home at 10pm that evening, no one else was there.
The actress elaborated that the situation quickly turned into a violent one.
"He made sure that I saw his gun, which I'd never seen a gun in real life. I got out of there unscathed. ... I don't know how I got out of that hotel room. ... I sort of squirmed my way out."
Margulies then recalled a similiar incident with Weinstein that happened in 1996, when she was invited by another woman to meet him at a hotel for a screen test. After she insisted that the women go with her to his room, they were greeted by Weinstein in an inappropriate way.
"He opened the door in a bathrobe. I could see that there were candles lit in the room, and there was a dinner for two. And I saw him stare at her, daggers."
The ER star claims she turned to the other woman and "caught her in a shrug, like, 'What could I do?'"
The actress joins a list of over 50 women that have come forward and accused Weinstein of sexual misconduct. Seagal was accused of harassment in the past by actress, Heather Graham and a former assistant.
The accusations against Weinstein started in September, after an expose was written about the producer. Since then, actresses, Heather Graham, Angelina Jolie, and Gwyneth Paltrow have all named Weinstein as their attacker.
In addition to Seagal, actors Dustin Hoffman, Kevin Spacey, and comedian Andy Dick have all been accused of sexual harassment or abuse.
Hoffman has issued an apology to the woman that has accussed him while Spacey, who starred on the Netflix original series, House of Cards, is currently seeking professional treament.
