Lori Loughlin News: John Stamos Says 'Full House' Co-Star is 'The One That Got Away' [VIDEO]
John Stamos confessed that he dated Full House co-star Lori Loughlin and that she may have been the one that got away on HuffPo Live Friday.
Stamos and Loughlin portrayed Uncle Jesse and Becky on the hit ABC sitcom that went off the air in 1995. The two were one of the most popular couples on the show but there may have been more to their chemistry than just good acting. Stamos admitted that he and Loughlin dated before they appeared on the sitcom.
"We were friends, we were on the soaps together and we actually did date," Stamos said.
Stamos described one of their dates as an idyllic one that took place in one of the happiest places on Earth. He and Loughlin went to Disneyland before they married other people and starred together on Full House.
"In real life, when we were 18, 19 years old. We did have some off timing, but no disrespect to her family and her husband now, I would say that she could be the one that got away," he said.
Loughlin joined Full House in the second season as Rebecca Donaldson. As Becky fell for Jesse's charms, Loughlin was married to Michael Burns for most of the duration of her run before divorcing him in 1996. She married her current husband Mossimo Giannulli in 1997 and the two have two children. For his part, Stamos married supermodel Rebecca Romijn in 1998 and divorced her in 2005.
Stamos joked about his timing being off but said that he was happy for Loughlin and her spouse. The 49-year-old declared that Loughlin was one of his "dearest friends, and that's good enough. But I really do adore her."
In March, Loughlin appeared on HuffPo Live and discussed her time on the sitcom. She addressed the rapport she had with Stamos.
"He's a really good friend of mine. I love and adore him and I think we have really great chemistry," she said.
Loughlin also said that they were always in different stages in their lives to even give thought to a romantic relationship.
"Our timing was really off and I don't think it even entered our minds that it would be something more," she said.
