'Whodunnit?': ABC Show From 'CSI' TV Series Creator Anthony E. Zuiker Interactive Mystery
CSI creator Anthony E. Zuiker's plans to thrill audiences with his upcoming mystery reality series called Whodunnity? with an interactive book based on the show called Whodunnit: Murder in Mystery Manor.
Publisher Hyperion will release Whodunnit: Murder in Mystery Manor digitally on June 18 just days before the season premiere which airs June 23 on ABC at 9 p.m. EST.
The first book will be meant for audiences to watch the show and read the book, which provides a more details backstory on the TV Series. Readers fill in the more elaborate descriptions as they read along.
The second book, still untitled, will be released in August and will coincide with the show's season finale.
On Whodunnit?, the players will not be killed off, but will get kicked off week by week if they are not able solve the mysteries they are given. The series will continue until there is a single winner, who will collect a $250,000 prize.
Zuiker, in a news release, said he had "a passion for mysteries and crime solving" since he was child.
"The best part for fans is that once you've finished the first season of the show, you'll be able to transition back into not just the second book, but a whole series," Zuiker said.
The plot of the first book follows the classic murder mystery setup: 10 guests will travel to a remote mansion and Butler Giles is the only resident in the home. The guests soon discover that there is a murderer among them, picking them off one by one. They are forced to discover who it is.
It was announce earlier this month that all 22 episodes of Season 12 of CSI will be released on DVD on July 1.
Nominated for five Emmy awards, CSI is the most-watched TV show worldwide with over 84 million viewers.
