Selena Gomez And Justin Bieber Want To Keep Their Romance Private
Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber's fans were hoping to see the couple on the red carpet together during Sunday night's American Music Awards. However, the event came and went with no sign of the couple together.
Although Gomez and Bieber never said a thing about attending the awards show together, a source confirmed that a joint appearance was unlikely just hours before Gomez took to the stage in Los Angeles to perform her newest song, "Wolves."
“Selena doesn’t want the AMAs to be all about their relationship,” a source close to the “Wolves” singer told Hollywood Life on Nov. 19. “She’s focused on her performance, and that’s what she wants people to be talking about after the show.”
Gomez's performance during the American Music Awards was her first performance in over a year. As fans can recall, Gomez attended the awards show last year but didn't perform. Months before that, she announced she would be taking some time off due to her struggles with anxiety and depression and abruptly canceled her tour.
“This is Selena’s first public performance since she canceled her [Revival World Tour] and she feels a lot of pressure to really deliver,” the source said, adding that Gomez was “dealing with a lot of nerves” ahead of her AMA performance.
As for Gomez's recently reconciled romance with Justin Bieber, the Hollywood Life source said that she is “swept up in this romance” and spending tons of time with one another in Los Angeles.
Gomez and Bieber are “practically living together,” the source said, revealing that Bieber has reportedly been spending several nights a week at Gomez's home. So, when it comes to Sunday night, Gomez may have headed home to her on-again, off-again boyfriend after the American Music Awards took place.
Gomez and Bieber started spending time with one another at the end of last month after her sudden split from The Weeknd. A short time later, they were caught kissing each other at one of Bieber's hockey games in Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, Selena Gomez's former boyfriend, The Weeknd, is facing rumors of a possible reconciliation with his own ex, model Bella Hadid, after being seen leaving her apartment in New York City nearly a week ago.
